It is often clear for quite some time that there are problems somewhere in the project. A good contract manager dares to trust, with all his technique and skills, on his instincts, just like an experienced skier. He takes the time needed to listen to his feelings. A good contract manager also dares to act on these feelings, to intervene if necessary, and make adjustments if this is possible. This brings us back to the parallel between the contract manager and the skier. What is expected of a good contract manager is that he is on top of things, that he sees everything and is present at the crucial times.
